Ursolic acid is an organic compound with the molecular formula C30H48O3. It is a natural triterpenoid carboxylic acid compound with preventive and anti-cancer properties and can be used as an emulsifier in pharmaceuticals and foods.
Rosemary, also known as oil-an grass, is a versatile economic crop from which antioxidants and rosemary essential oil can be extracted. Antioxidants primarily consist of compounds such as diterpenes, flavonoids, and triterpenes, which have antioxidant properties. Rosemary essential oil is a liquid oil composed of over 30 volatile components. In Europe, rosemary has a long history as a food flavoring and is now used in cosmetics, food, and pharmaceuticals. Existing research shows that rosemary is effective in preventing oil oxidation and preserving the flavor of meat. Japan has developed a series of rosemary antioxidant products.
Rosemary, a herbaceous plant of the Lamiaceae family, is native to southern Europe and has been introduced and cultivated in Hunan, Guizhou, Hainan, Guangxi, and Guangdong provinces in my country. It contains a variety of active ingredients, including carnosic acid, rosmarinic acid, rosmarinic acid, carnosol, epirosmarinic acid, isorosmarinic acid, and rosmarinodiphenol. Among these are carnosic acid, rosmarinic acid, and carnosol, which are highly effective antioxidants. Rosemary extract can be divided into two types: oil-soluble (antioxidant) and water-soluble (antioxidant and preservative). The active ingredient of the former is mainly carnosic acid, and the active ingredient of the latter is mainly rosmarinol.
Ursolic acid, a triterpenoid compound found naturally in plants, exhibits a variety of biological effects, including sedative, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-diabetic, anti-ulcer, and blood sugar-lowering properties. It also possesses significant antioxidant properties, leading to its widespread use as a pharmaceutical and cosmetic ingredient.
Clinically ursolic acid has been shown to significantly and rapidly lower alanine aminotransferase and serum transaminases, resolve jaundice, increase appetite, combat fibrosis, and restore liver function. It boasts rapid effects, a short treatment course, and stable results.
